About Us

Ballaghaderreen Golf Club

"Ballaghaderreen Golf Club is affiliated to the Golfing Union of Ireland and to the Irish Ladies Golfing Union. The Club was founded in 1936 and has had a number of homes , but arrived at its present location in the early 1950's. The Club has approximately 500 members with a split of approx 50/50 between Local and Distance Members.

The Course is a 9 hole parkland course, on which accuracy is essential. No, not because of bunkers, but because of strategically placed Trees. Trees play a major part on every hole, or for the better players trees play no part at all! There are alternate tees on six of the back nine holes, so there is little chance to get complacent. Par for the 18 holes is 70, course length 5339 metres for men and 4663 metres for ladies and SS for men is 67 and for ladies 68. The course is situated some 3 miles outside Ballaghaderreen and is well sign-posted from the town.
